Purpose
We help you to deal with the difficult emotions that redundancy can cause; feelings of rejection, fear, sadness and anger. We explore what you liked and dislikes about previous jobs and employers, what motivates you, what is important to you – your values, what makes you unique – your experience, qualities and skills.
We help you get clear on what financial security means for you and how you want your future work to give you the life you want now, one of the positives of redundancy - having time to take stock. We explore the different new careers available to you, share our knowledge of work trends and what employers are looking for.
We examine what your beliefs are about change and the different new career options e.g. contract/interim work, career reinvention, setting up your own business etc. We help you define a clear goal and create a step-by-step plan to achieve it.
We help you design your CV/ a biog and help you think through the best way for you to network and market yourself to achieve your goal. We also introduce you to relevant contacts and connect you with useful resources.
Typically programs are 6-12 hours in length, but we can discuss a shorter programs to suit your needs or budget. Negotiating budget to fund your redundancy support is worth mentioning when having conversations with your employer or employment lawyer. More detail can be found in the PDF you can download from the bottom of this page.
Results and benefits
“Rachel helped me to plan and successfully execute my personal development plan, including exiting from an substantial global executive role with IBM in order to embark on a higher risk portfolio career of non-executive and board advisory roles. Rachel's coaching techniques (and models) are far more time efficient than most, which is great for busy execs that want to 'cut to the chase' and to gain direct feedback and new ideas rather than feeling that the clock is running with little really achieved.... In addition, Rachel has continued to stay in contact and to help myself and others in their personal development through very relevant networking introductions. I would certainly recommend Rachel's services to other board execs or business owners who are considering major career development steps within their business or a move elsewhere. Thom Poole
A huge thank you for all the support you have given me over what has been a very difficult time due to my redundancy. The information you shared with me was invaluable and gave me the springboard I needed to re-think my values and core beliefs, plus have the courage to open a few doors into the unknown! Claire Johnson
