Small changes can make all the difference. We worked with a client in the NHS who used to go into work an hour early to think before his team arrived. Each time, he would switch on the computer on entering his office, an automatic response and get sucked into e mails. We helped him to change this habit so that he did use the time in the way he had planned. We helped him to think through what he saw as he entered his office and to create a way of remembering to turn away from his computer and sit at the table instead. One simple small change, huge benefits from the thinking and planning he did in this hour as a result.
